Assessment of Foreign Education
CEVRO University is authorized to assess the foreign education of applicants pursuant to Section 48 of Act No. 111/1998 Coll., on Higher Education Institutions. This assessment serves exclusively for the purposes of the admission procedure at CEVRO University and is not generally recognized within the Czech Republic or by other universities. The procedure for internal recognition is set out in the Vice-Rector’s Directive No. 3/2025, which establishes the Rules for the Assessment of Foreign Education for Admission Purposes at CEVRO University.
Who Is Exempt from the Assessment
Applicants who have completed secondary or higher education in the following countries have their education automatically recognized on the basis of international treaties (no further documentation required):
- Slovakia
- Poland
- Hungary
- Slovenia
The following diplomas are also automatically recognized:
- European Baccalaureate (bilingual diploma)
- International Baccalaureate Diploma
How to Submit an Application
IMPORTANT: Only students who have been recommended for admission can apply for internal nostrification. The recognition process is part of the admission process and is automatically required of all students before the start of the semester.
Applicants who completed secondary or higher education in countries other than those listed above must apply for an assessment of foreign education via email.
- Documents must first be submitted electronically to studijni@cevro.cz.
- Physical copies must then be delivered to the CEVRO University Student Affairs Office (Jungmannova 29/19, 110 00 Prague 1 – Nové Město).
Required Documents
Verification Form
- All documents must be officially certified. More information on how and where to have documents certified is available [here].
- If documents are in a language other than Czech, Slovak, or English, an official translation into Czech is required by a sworn translator registered with the Ministry of Justice of the Czech Republic. A list of certified translators is available [here].
Secondary Education
- Officially certified copy of the secondary school-leaving certificate (maturita certificate) and transcript of courses.
- CEVRO University may additionally request:
- Information on the content and scope of studies.
- Proof of the institution’s authorization to provide education equivalent to secondary education in the Czech Republic.
Higher Education
- Officially certified copy of the diploma.
- Officially certified Diploma Supplement or Transcript of Records.
- CEVRO University may additionally request:
- Information on the content and scope of studies.
- Proof of accreditation of the foreign higher education institution.
Assessment Procedure
- The assessment is carried out by the Vice-Rector for Studies in cooperation with the International Office and the Student Affairs Office.
- If recognition is granted, the applicant will receive written confirmation by email.
- If recognition is not granted, the applicant may apply for general nostrification (formal recognition) with the relevant public authority. - The internal recognition assessment is not an administrative decision and cannot be appealed.
- The applicant may request a paper copy of the decision.
Assessment Fee
- Fee amount: CZK 990 / EUR 40
- The fee must be paid upon submission of the application. Without payment, the application will not be processed.
